Cruisin' the Gods is a FREE classic car cruise-in located in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is held the first Saturday of the month from May through August from 11am-2pm at Bird Dog BBQ's Centennial location and cruises through the majestic Garden of the Gods Park.
Hang out, show your ride, cruise in/out and oh yeah, eat some killer BBQ. Bird Dog BBQ offers mouth watering brisket, ribs, pulled pork, turkey and sausage... and the best BBQ beans this side of the planet. Be sure to ask about the Cruisin' the Gods' Special during the event!
It's a traditional cruise-in/out where participants are encouraged to come and go as they please and cruise through the spectacular Garden of the Gods. This is an amazing place for photo ops of your car, however, there are designated pull off locations where you can park, you must adhere to the rules of the park. If you'd like to take photos BEFORE the show (best time to take them!) See info below.
There is plenty of parking for trailers, etc., as it is a strip mall and loads of spots are available!
May 6 - June 3 - July 1 - August 5

IMPORTANT: Cruisin' the Gods takes place on public streets. ABSOLUTELY NO STRAIGHT PIPES, RACING OR BURNOUTS! All traffic laws are in effect and enforced! Fire Lane restrictions are enforced! ESPECIALLY in the Garden of the Gods Park.
The Garden of the Gods Park is always busy on Saturdays. If you choose to cruise, be patient towards visitors and other drivers, you are their first impression of locals who live here. If you are aggressive, you will be banned from future events.
As a photographer of cars, I have a few tips IF YOU WANT GREAT PHOTOS OF YOUR CAR AT THE GODS:
GO EARLY! Just before 8am is perfect, sky is blue, rocks are colorful, and the Gods is relatively quiet then.
Some great locations to shoot: Mesa Overlook - the view is killer from up there! Set your GPS to the Garden of the Gods club, but just before you get there at the top of the hill on Mesa, there's a parking lot on the right, that's the spot. Also, several shots/angles at Balanced Rock, coming through the rock formations, or in the parking area as seen here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/denny7e But really, anywhere in the Gods with the rocks in the background is great! Have fun!
